“This programme is very practical from the very beginning. Lecturers will give their constructive criticism to improve on your work or yourself. You’ll be attending a lot of talks in the field and meet people from the industry even before you step out to look for employment. My favourite subjects were Principles of Advertising, Advertising Campaign, Media Marketing and Advanced Marketing Communication. Alvin was a student in the HELP Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) degree at the Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology, commencing the course in 2016 and graduating in early 2019. He completed the HELP Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) from 2014 to 2016 that enabled him to fast track to Year 2 of the BIT. He received the HELP Loyalty and Silver Jubilee bursaries for both his DIT and BIT studies.

“My journey at HELP throughout the 3 years’ course was pleasant, exciting and rewarding. The lecturers were not only mentors who nurtured my potential as an early childhood educator, but they were like our friends whom we could confide in and who spurred us on to achieve success in all we did. The lectures were fresh and fun and at the same time intriguing and challenging – there was always something new to learn. They were also very diligent and worked hard to mould us into excellent and quality educators. While it was at times heavy, it definitely equipped us with wholesome and insightful ECE.
Seeing the joy on the children’s faces while I was teaching during my practicum was what I enjoyed most in the ECE programme. That encouraged and gave me great confidence to move ahead in this field”.
